DENVER, Colo., USA: Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, congratulates Senior Technical Manager Jamie Archambeau, PE, on being named to the 2020 Denver Business Journal (DBJ) 40 Under 40 list, which recognizes the top professionals in the Denver metro area for their leadership, organizational contributions and community involvement. Jamie will be honored at the DBJ’s 40 Under 40 award dinner on February 12.
“It’s such an honor to be selected for this prestigious list,” said Archambeau. “The Denver region has a very talented and diverse work force, with many professionals in the sciences, technology, business and non-profit sectors. It’s a great privilege to be among this brilliant, diverse group of professionals.”
Jamie began her career at Atkins in 2003 as an entry-level planner/engineer and has since moved up the ranks to become director of transportation planning for the western United States. She has served as a project manager for more than 30 high-profile transportation projects at Atkins and been involved in projects to improve some of Colorado’s most critical travel corridors, including developing solutions to reduce traffic congestion on Interstate 25 (I-25) through downtown Denver and Interstate 70 (I-70) through metro Denver. She has worked on multiple green infrastructure projects across the state, including the Rocky Mountain Greenway Trail, which won the 2016 Colorado American Public Works Association award for best trail project.
Currently, Jamie is working to deliver projects for the Elevate Denver Bond Program. The program is a $937 million general obligation bond approved by voters in 2017 to enhance the City and County of Denver by providing critical citywide improvements to roads, sidewalks, parks, playgrounds, libraries and museums. She is also managing projects to preserve some of the nation’s most valued treasures, including Yosemite National Park, where she is helping identify transportation solutions to reduce congestion and protect the park’s natural beauty.
A resident of Denver for 16 years, Jamie is passionate about encouraging Denver-area students to pursue STEM careers. She created a tutoring program through Denver Public Schools to provide multiple tutors to middle school students focusing on math and science. She is also an active member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) International organization and was named Transportation Professional of the Year by The Institute of Transportation Engineers Colorado/Wyoming Section in 2009.
