DENVER, Colo., USA: Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, was reselected as prime consultant under a three-year, non-project specific (NPS) contract to provide traffic engineering services to the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Front Range Urban Corridor. Atkins has provided CDOT with transportation engineering services under various NPS contracts for the last 20 years, including four consecutive contracts specifically supporting the Front Range. This contract is within SNCL Engineering Services, the cornerstone of our strategy moving forward to greater growth and profitability.

Under this contract, the team will provide innovative mobility solutions, including Adaptive Signal Timing, Commercial Vehicle Signal Prioritization and development of CDOT’s new Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) tool that will benefit the travelling public. The team will also continue to support CDOT with staff augmentation, design services and traffic operation.

“We look forward to continuing our work with CDOT, especially on developing solutions and tools like ICE, which involves a data-driven, performance-based approach to evaluate alternatives for the safest, most effective and practical solutions for intersections,” said Will Johnson, Atkins project manager. “We remain committed to delivering quality projects for our clients that help keep Colorado roads safer and easier to travel.”
