AtkinsRéalis is supporting the major redevelopment of the former Premier Periclase industrial site into the CORE Campus—a next‑generation, sustainably powered industrial hub designed for large energy users. The multiyear project, valued between €600 million and €1 billion, will transform the north bank of the River Boyne into a grid‑positive campus that integrates advanced energy infrastructure, renewable generation and a new 32MW data centre.

Client challenges
PPL and project partners Meridiam and Gyrogy sought to repurpose an historic industrial site into a future‑ready campus that supports:

Our role
AtkinsRéalis was appointed to provide full multidisciplinary design services, including:
- Masterplanning and detailed design for the new CORE campus
- Development of a sustainable energy infrastructure strategy
- Integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage
- Design of the initial 32MW data centre
- Site remediation and infrastructure upgrade planning
- Support to the campus planning application process
This follows our earlier feasibility study for the site, giving AtkinsRéalis a continuous role from concept through to planning.
