Having appropriately skilled staff is paramount in a fast-moving, safety-conscious rail industry. We have the expertise and flexibility to provide core and specialist training for track safety and occupational health and safety.

We have two dedicated and accessible facilities – in Surrey just outside of London (Epsom) and the Midlands (Derby) – high quality training is delivered in a professional learning environment. Please note that our Epsom location has free onsite parking facilities. Derby also has parking facilities but these are bookable and limited. In addition to providing track safety, DC electrification and health & safety training, a team of licensed trainers also offers the expertise to design bespoke courses which satisfy individual customer requirements.

We have an available Trainer to deliver health & safety courses for your business needs.

We can deliver the following courses:

  • Emergency First Aid including Electrical Accidents - required for HV, Level C & D courses
  • Manual Handling
  • Fire Warden

These are all half day courses.

You have the option to combine any two of the above courses into one full day of training.

Effective from the 6th December 2025, recording the use of track safety competence in the Sentinel Electronic Logbook is mandatory, and paper logbooks are withdrawn.
This applies to PTS, COSS & SW.

  • There will be a grace period in accepting paper logbook evidence until 6th December 2027, as paper entries recorded before 06/12/2025 can still be accepted.
  • However, paper entries recorded after 06/12/2025, cannot be accepted and instead must be on the Sentinel Electronic Logbook.
  • Learners will be turned away from their Recertification training if they do not meet these requirements.

Sentinel Electronic Logbook Requirements:

  • Records of competence in the Electronic Logbook must be of a ‘Trackside’ location to be acceptable.
  • COSS’s must ensure to record the competence being used at the time of swiping in to ensure the electronic logbook is updated.

Increase in Entries / Evidence:

  • Logbook entries/evidence for recertification courses are increasing from x4 to x8 (for PTS & SW) and from x4 to x10 (for COSS) within 24 months. However, to facilitate this transition, the below will apply.
    • From Dec 2025 to Dec 2026, the minimum x4 entries within 24 months will remain acceptable.
    • From 6th December 2026, the x4 entries (for PTS & SW) and x5 entries (for COSS) within 12 months will be mandatory.
