SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business appoints David Bell as Managing Director for Australia

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA: 16 July 2020– Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, has appointed David Bell as Managing Director of its Australia business, responsible for growing the company’s presence across the infrastructure sector through the delivery of digitally enabled design, engineering and project management.

David Bell, Managing Director, AustraliaDavid is an industry veteran with more than 25 years’ experience in developing and delivering complex projects in Australia and New Zealand and has held numerous senior leadership roles across the public and private sectors, most recently as General Manager of Transportation Australia at Stantec. He joined Atkins on 5 May and is based at its Brisbane office.

In addition to the Inland Rail project - the largest freight rail infrastructure project in Australia and a once-in-a-generation programme of infrastructure works connection regional Australia to domestic and international markets, Atkins has delivered a number of other projects with significant social and economic benefits in the country, such as the Barangaroo Ferry Hub project in Sydney, the Cross River Rail Project and the New Generation Rolling Stock (NGR) Project delivered through a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) programme in Brisbane.
