AtkinsRéalis Sustains Its US Federal Transit Legacy

Washington, D.C.: November 21, 2024 – AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company with offices around the world, announces today that it has been awarded a Project Management Oversight Contract (PMOC) by the United States Department of Transportation’s (U.S. DOT) Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to support oversight of the agency’s major capital projects and related programs. AtkinsRéalis has provided PMOC services to the FTA for more than 14 years.

AtkinsRéalis’ oversees FTA’s largest capital investment grant  in the US as part of the FTA PMOC program. The Company’s comprehensive professional services that include its transit experience in planning and designing, program and construction management, and risk mitigation and value engineering will be leveraged to provide FTA with critical programmatic input under this five-year contract.

Under previous PMOC assignments, AtkinsRéalis has worked closely with FTA and project sponsors to help move projects through New Starts and Small Starts in the Capital Investment Grant (CIG) pipeline, as well as Expedited Project Delivery (EPD), Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant, Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Grant, and Urban Circulator Grant processes.
