Atkins awarded fifth consecutive US Florida Department of Transportation contract for $25 million

BARTOW, Fla, USA: Atkins, member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, was reselected as prime consultant for a not-to-exceed $25 million US, five-year contract to provide general engineering consultant (GEC) services for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District 1, which includes 12 counties in the state’s southwestern region. The company was selected for the initial GEC contract in 1992 and has been reselected for four consecutive renewals.

Under the contract the company will support the construction, maintenance and operations of Florida’s state highway system and assist in bringing several projects to completion. Support services will include engineering, acquiring right-of-way, planning, environmental, architectural, landscape architecture, professional surveying and mapping, technical, management and administrative.

SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business has held GC contracts with FDOT Districts 2, 3, 7, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, and with the following agencies:

  • Central Florida Expressway Authority
  • Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (Georgia)
  • Texas Department of Transportation’s Central Texas Turnpike System
  • Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority
  • North Texas Tollway Authority
