MISSISSAUGA: February 1, 2021 - SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that it has made a financial donation of $10,000 to the Durham Region Hospice’s Comfort, Care, Compassion campaign, bringing it one step closer to its fundraising goal. The donation will support the construction of a nine-bed residential hospice in Clarington. The centre is part of a network of soon-to-be-built hospices that will provide compassionate end-of-life care and family support.

“SNC-Lavalin is committed to contributing to the well-being of the communities we work in,” said Bill Fox, Executive Vice-President, Nuclear, SNC-Lavalin. “We understand the unexpected challenges of fundraising during this time, and are proud to support an initiative that will meet the needs of individuals throughout their toughest days.”

“We are very grateful to SNC-Lavalin for this donation,” said Melodie Zarzeczny, Chair of the Board of Directors of Durham Hospice – Clarington. “We look forward to an ongoing relationship with this important member of the Clarington corporate community.”

Durham Region Hospice launched the capital campaign to support the construction of two residential hospices, a 10-bed centre in the Town of Whitby and a nine-bed centre in the Municipality of Clarington. The Durham Region Hospice will serve approximately 200 to 300 individuals facing a palliative care diagnosis each year.
