MONTRÉAL – August 9, 2023 – SNC-Lavalin, a fully integrated professional services project management company with offices around the world, is proud to announce that it has been awarded a six-year contract from the Société québécoise des infrastructures (SQI) for the modernization of the Institut national de psychiatrie légale Philippe-Pinel (Pinel Institute).
SNC-Lavalin is part of the winning consortium whose mandate will include mechanical and electrical engineering services as part of the construction of a new four-storey pavilion that will house secure care units, as well as the construction of a facility dedicated to the Institution’s academic activities.
“The Pinel Institute is one of the most important psychiatric institutions in Québec and a leader in quality care delivery and the development and dissemination of mental health information. We are proud to have won the call for tenders issued by the SQI to support the realization of this project. It is a continuation of a long tradition of excellence in the healthcare field,” said Ben Almond, Chief Executive Officer, Engineering Services Canada at SNC-Lavalin.

The scope of work listed in this contract will include:
- Building mechanical and electrical engineering services;
- 3D building information modelling (BIM) during the building’s design and construction phase.
