Montreal: July 30, 2024 – AtkinsRéalis, a fully integrated professional services and project management company with offices around the world, is pleased to announce that the Region of Peel has entrusted our firm with the geotechnical, environmental and hydrogeological investigation campaign to support the detailed design of the Queensway East Trunk Sewer, Cawthra Road Trunk sewer and the Pressure Zone 2 water system upgrades of the Peel waste-water system.
During the past decade, the Peel wastewater network has faced increased stresses in accommodating population growth from key corridors such as the Mississauga City Centre, Hurontario, and Dundas. With growth projected to rise by over 40% by 2041, the system's capacity must be enhanced to maintain effective service levels for the communities it serves.

AtkinsRéalis will conduct a comprehensive analysis encompassing geotechnical, geo-environmental, and hydrogeological aspects. The findings will guide the detailed design of water system upgrades, ensuring a smooth transition from planning to implementation.
AtkinsRéalis’ multi-disciplinary team will leverage innovative technologies that minimize environmental impact, such as advanced wastewater treatment processes, and eco-friendly construction practices that reduce carbon emissions to deliver this work. The Company has worked on other similar projects, including the Watermain Replacement on Mount Hope Road (Town of Caledon) and the Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer and Road Improvement on Cadetta Road (City of Brampton).
