Weilerbach (DE): October 9, 2024 – AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company with offices around the world, announces that it has been selected by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to supply Initial Outfitting & Transition (IO&T) services for the Rhine Ordinance Barracks Medical Center (ROBMC) in Weilerbach Germany. The ROBMC will replace the 70-year-old Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) and U.S. Air Force 86th Medical Group (86th MDG) Ramstein Air Force Base facility. The new modern medical campus will support 49,000 active duty servicemembers and their families.

Under a 65 month, US$193.9M task order award to replace an iconic legacy facility, AtkinsRéalis is providing project management, inventory, interior design, equipment planning, purchasing, warehousing, overseas shipping, disposition of excess equipment, installation, calibration and testing at ROBMC. The Company will also provide training and phased transition support to approximately 2500 facility staff members to ensure a seamless move and optimum operational efficiency.

Comprehensive technical services delivered by AtkinsRéalis’ Global Technology Center (GTC), including digital 3D design, AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) will maximize efficiency and streamline delivery. Virtual Reality mock-ups will allow reviewers to visualize space layouts and workflow while allowing for real time adjustments as necessary. AtkinsRéalis also developed a tablet based mobile app specifically for Military Treatment Facility (MTF) inventorying that synchronizes photos, serial numbers and manufacturer information to enhance equipment cataloging.
