SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that its member company, Candu Energy Inc., has reached a labour agreement with the Society of Professional Engineers & Associates (SPEA), the union that represents its employees who are organized in collective agreements. SPEA members overwhelmingly ratified the agreement through a vote on June 13.
“We are pleased to have a long-term agreement for our SPEA-represented employees that provides us with long-term stability while addressing the needs of our clients, our employees and the company,” said Bill Fox, President, Candu Energy Inc. “This will allow all of us to return our focus to the important work of extending the life of Ontario’s CANDU® reactors to provide affordable clean energy for another 30 years,” said Mr. Fox. Candu Energy employees also provide engineering and field services to the global CANDU fleet and are collaborating with small modular reactor (SMR) vendors on the next waves of safe and reliable new nuclear technology.
