AtkinsRéalis Achieves PAIR Silver Certification, Reflecting Commitment to Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation

Thursday 17 September 2026

Montreal: September 17, 2026  AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company with offices around the world, has achieved silver-level certification under the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB).

Through the infrastructure, energy and engineering solutions it helps deliver, AtkinsRéalis plays a role in shaping communities across Canada. The Company recognizes that engineering a better future for our planet and its people means ensuring this work contributes to lasting benefits for Indigenous Peoples, particularly when projects are delivered on or near their territories. This responsibility has shaped AtkinsRéalis’ efforts to strengthen relationships, expand participation and embed Indigenous Relations throughout its Canadian operations, making it an integral part of how the Company works, partners and delivers value every day.

“Receiving PAIR silver certification is a source of great pride and meaningful recognition of the progress we have made in advancing Indigenous relations,” said Stéphanie Vaillancourt, President, Canada, AtkinsRéalis. “While this recognition acknowledges how far we have come since receiving our first PAIR certification in 2024, it is ultimately a reflection of who we are and how we do business. Our commitment to Indigenous Peoples is embedded in our values, our relationships and the decisions we make every day. We remain committed to listening, learning and advancing reconciliation through meaningful action, partnership and respect.”

AtkinsRéalis’ practices and results were independently reviewed over a multi-year period, with input from Indigenous employees and partners forming part of the assessment. The PAIR silver certification comes after the Company achieved the bronze-level certification in 2024. It’s a recognition of the progress that AtkinsRéalis has demonstrated across leadership, employment, business development, procurement and community relationships.

The assessment recognized progress in turning AtkinsRéalis’ commitments into structured and measurable action. This includes stronger leadership accountability, expanded employee learning and Indigenous talent initiatives, greater participation by Indigenous businesses, and more consistent and sustained relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.

The certification builds on AtkinsRéalis’ Commitment to Indigenous Peoples and ReconciliACTION Plan, which guide the Company’s approach to employee learning, recruitment, procurement, partnerships, project delivery and community engagement.

AtkinsRéalis’ broader approach

AtkinsRéalis’ Indigenous Relations program is a core part of the Company’s strategy. Some of the program’s initiatives include:

  • The ReconciliACTION Plan, which guides actions across employee learning and experience, recruitment, procurement, partnerships, project delivery and community engagement through 2030.
  • Mandatory Indigenous cultural awareness training for employees in Canada, supported by speaker events, cultural learning opportunities and employee-led networks that promote continued learning and connection across the organization.
  • Programs supporting Indigenous talent and career development, including dedicated recruitment resources, internships, co-op placements, mentorship, scholarships and technical training that can lead to employment opportunities.
  • A growing network of long-term partnerships with Indigenous-owned businesses, including Scout Engineering & Consulting Ltd., Shwe Miikaan and Indigenous E3, focused on participation, knowledge sharing, capacity building and lasting value for Indigenous communities.
  • Indigenous procurement practices that help identify qualified Indigenous suppliers, support their access to opportunities and increase their participation in AtkinsRéalis’ supply chain. The Company is also an Indigenous Procurement Champion through the CCIB’s Supply Change program.
  • Community and capacity-building initiatives that support Indigenous youth, education and economic participation, including scholarships and bursaries, STEM programming, employee volunteering and support for Indigenous-led organizations and events.
