Montreal: September 29, 2026 – AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company with offices around the world, has launched an updated ReconciliACTION Plan that strengthens its commitment to Indigenous engagement and reconciliation. Building on its inaugural ReconciliACTION Plan unveiled in 2023, the updated version enhances leadership accountability, integrates reconciliation objectives into strategic planning, and sets clearer performance measures across the organization, focusing the Company’s actions and commitments through 2030.
The implementation of the inaugural plan has yielded genuine and significant progress. Since 2023, AtkinsRéalis has recorded more than $11 million in Indigenous procurement spend, exceeding its three-year target of $6 million, and has grown its Indigenous supplier network from 138 to more than 4,000 suppliers. These outcomes, along with input from employees and Indigenous partners and a comprehensive gap analysis, informed the development of the updated plan. Building on that foundation, the plan sharpens the Company’s priorities for the years to come, strengthens accountability and establishes clearer measures to track implementation and progress.

Focused actions and clearer accountability
The updated ReconciliACTION Plan retains the three pillars established in 2023:
- Include: embedding Indigenous perspectives and participation across AtkinsRéalis.
- Support: developing capacity and meaningful participation through career development, learning, wellness and supportive workplace practices.
- Empower: collaborating with Indigenous businesses and communities through procurement, partnerships and youth-focused programs.
Those three pillars are translated into nine goals and 30 focused actions, including increasing Indigenous representation across career levels; connecting Indigenous employees to meaningful projects and career-development opportunities; offering Indigenous-led cultural learning; supporting Indigenous suppliers; developing transparent and measurable partnerships; and investing in Indigenous youth, education and STEM pathways.
The plan also introduces stronger oversight and measurement. Annual ReconciliACTION commitments will be incorporated into leadership objectives, supported by measurable indicators and regular reporting. A dedicated working group will coordinate implementation, track commitments, and report progress. Regular engagement with Indigenous partners will also support continued improvement, transparency and accountability.
The updated plan follows AtkinsRéalis’ recent silver-level certification under the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. The certification reflects an independent, multi-year review of the Company’s practices and results, informed in part by feedback from Indigenous employees and partners. This recognition validates an approach that is increasingly embedded in how we lead, partner, hire, procure and work alongside Indigenous communities across Canada.
